You Can Take The Girl Out Of The City
This piece was made in response to my move from living in many cities to living in a small coastal town. It is a celebration of all city life: its weather, its people, its lights and the magic that can unfold. I am happy to live by the sea, but the city will always be in me.
This canvas was created using multiple layers of acrylic paint applied with a roller to create depth and texture. Iridescent film is applied in small areas to add a reflective quality and is adhered with adhesive and small stitches in iridescent thread.
Eleven O Four
This is a textural abstract work around the number 1104. I seem to see this number everywhere, I frequently look at the clock at this time so I thought that this number deserved an artwork. The painting was made using thick layers of acrylic, applied with a roller. Before dry it received a light sprinkling of silver glitter. After dry, the numbers which it is named for have been stitched downwards just above the centre. It is painted directly onto a deep edge (4cm) canvas.

Who Are You And What Do You Want?
Who are you and what do you want? is the fundamental question in life. When we know the answer, everything in our life works. I created this piece as part of an inquiry into the self, identity and belonging. It was created using acrylic paint and cut out figures. The lettering has been cut by hand from reflective fabric and machine stitched on to the figures with silver thread. Then each painted figure has been stitched by hand onto the canvas. This piece has indeed been a labour of love.
